Brewmore | Baltimore chronicles city’s rich history as driving force in beer industry.

February 14, 2014

Baltimore, MD: Digital Cave, in sponsorship with M&T Bank, announces a showcase featuring local beer, music, and film at MICA’s Brown Center on Thursday, March 20, 2014.

The event begins at 6pm with beers served from Maryland breweries, and musician Caleb Stine will play a set before the film begins at 7:45. Online ticket sales begin Tuesday, February 18 on MissionTix. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Featuring an eclectic cast of local authors, brewers, historians, and entrepreneurs, Brewmore | Baltimore uses fascinating anecdotes, rare photographs, and intimate interviews to vividly chronicle the pervasive presence of brewing in Charm City. And it’s not just about beer making in one city, but about an economy that shaped American culture.

Of his inspiration for the film, Director Nick Kovacic says, “I wanted to make a documentary about Baltimore, not just what you see on the surface, but deep down into the soul of the city. I came to find out that beer and brewing was a booming industry that had been lost for a few decades in Baltimore, and I had to investigate.”
